KALI MANTRA

This poster can be used as alter art in an area of your house that you deem to be personally consecrated space.

In English the mantra translates as “Om Kring Kalikaye Namah”

This mantra is a sound representation of the Mother. This mantra is simple and transforms the devotee to pure consciousness. You can repeat this mantra in your mind or verbally while meditating, you can hum or sing it to yourself whilst using mala beads.

Kali is derived from the Sanskrit word “Kala” or time. She, therefore, represents Time, Change, Power, Creation, Preservation and Destruction. “Kali” also mean “the black one”, the feminine noun of the Sanskrit adjective Kala. She is the mother of the world and the treasure-house of compassion. She is considered as the primordial mass from which all life arouse.

She has a garland consisting of human heads, variously enumerated at 108 or 51, which represents Varnamala or the Garland of letters of the Sanskrit alphabet, Devanagari. Hindus believe Sanskrit is a language of dynamism, and each of these letters represents a form of energy, or a form of Kali. Therefore, she is generally seen as the mother of language, and all mantras.
